Cairo and Cruise - 3 Nights Cairo & 7 Nights Nile Cruise

For those looking to take in the major historical sites in Egypt, including the Pyramids and Sphinx in Cairo, the temples and tombs of Luxor and Aswan's Philae Temple, this tour is the perfect option.

Departing from London Heathrow (this is the only option as we need to utilise scheduled flights for this tour) on Fridays you will follow the following itinerary:

FRIDAY - Depart the UK for your flight to Cairo where you will be met at the airport and transferred to your chosen hotel for the next 3 nights.

MONDAY - After breakfast you will be transferred to Cairo Airport for the 1 hour flight to Luxor. Upon arrival in Luxor you will be met and transferred to your chosen Nile Cruise ship. The rest of the day will be at leisure and you will overnight in Luxor.

TUESDAY - In the morning visit the Luxor Museum. Afternoon excursion visits the Temples of Karnak and Luxor on the East Bank. Overnight in Luxor.

WEDNESDAY - In the morning, visit the highlights of the West Bank including the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. In the afternoon sail via Esna Lock to Edfu where you will overnight.

THURSDAY - In the morning visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu before continuing along the Nile to Kom Ombo. In the afternoon visit the Temple of Sobek and Haroeris in kom Ombo and then continue to Aswan. Overnight in Aswan.

FRIDAY - After breakfast spend the day exploring the sights of Aswan with a visit to the High Dam and the Temple of Philae in the morning. This is followed by a relaxing trip on a felucca past the Aga Khan Mausoleum and Elephantine Island in the afternnon. Overnight in Aswan.

SATURDAY - Spend the morning at leisure in Aswan with an optional excursion to Abu Simbel. In the afternoon you will sail from Aswan to Edfu where you will overnight.

SUNDAY - In the morning sail from Edfu to Esna. You will then visit the Temple of Khnum at Esna before crossing the lock and continuing your journey to Luxor. Overnight in Luxor.

MONDAY - After breakfast you will disembark and transfer to Luxor Airport for your return flight to the UK.

IMPORTANT - Please note that the itinerary may be slightly different from ship to ship and may also be altered if local condition dictate. Please also be aware that the itinerary will also be amended when the Esna Lock is closed for maintenance (during June and December), please ask us for more information.

As an alternative to the cruise itinerary shown to the left, you can take the cruise first and follow this with time spent in Cairo afterwards. Prices are shown above.
