Aswan’s most famous hotel was built in 1899 and occupies a prime location on a bluff overlooking the Nile. Its architecture, a combination of Edwardian and Moorish styles, inspired Agatha Christie to write ‘Death on the Nile’. The famous ‘1902’ restaurant, designed in a Moorish style, serves French and international cuisine. Other dining options include American buffet breakfasts and varied cuisines throughout the day, plus elegant afternoon teas on the terrace, with impressive views of the Nile. The gardens include a swimming pool and tennis courts and stretch down to the Nile, where Feluccas moor.
