Cairo & Nile Cruise

Cairo & Nile Cruise is usually a 10 day trip (although we can adjust the Cairo duration from 3 days if desired), and is available from London Heathrow only. This is due to the need to fly with scheduled carriers (Egyptair) for the Cairo part of the trip and no charter flights operate to Cairo. Cairo & Nile Cruise includes 3 nights in a Cairo hotel followed by a 7 night Nile Cruise.

We recommend flying on Friday to Cairo and spend 3 nights in the city before taking an internal flight from Cairo to Luxor on the Monday to join your Nile cruise. You will then enjoy the itinerary of your chosen Nile cruise ship (see left panle for details). The following Monday you will fly from Luxor directly back to Heathrow with Egyptair. It is possible to do the itinerary the other way round but you will need to depart on a Monday to Luxor to join your chosen Nile cruise.

We are happy to combine your Nile cruise and hotel in Cairo as a tailormade package so please contact us for further information or to discuss your options. Not all ships can be combined with Cairo but it’s always worth asking us. See below for a sample of those that are possible:

How Much Is A Cairo & Nile Cruise Package?

Prices vary according to the time of year and which options you select but here are some example prices.

  • Presidential Nile Cruise (7nts FB) & Sofitel Le Shpinx (3 nts B&B) from £959
  • Viking Princess (7 nts FB) & Sofitel Le Shpinx Cairo (3nts B&B) from £1099pp
  • Royal Viking (7 nts FB) & Fairmont Heliopolis Cairo (3nts B&B) from £1299pp
  • Alexander The Great (7 nts FB) & Mena House Oberoi Cairo (3nts B&B) from £2299pp

Please also note that there is a day trip option for those guests sailing on the MS Da Vinci (this is the only Nile cruise ship that we are aware of that offers such a trip). The Cairo day trip leaves on the final Sunday and costs around £200 per person (payable locally). It is a busy and long day but allows guests to visit the pyramids, the Egyptian Museum and the Khan-el-Khalili bazaar. The trip includes flights (journey time around one hour) and lunch. It’s an excellent option for those who don’t wish to spend too long in Cairo or for those not wanting to fly from Heathrow on the above 10 day itinerary.
